Wheels!

In other wheel news, I'm considering switch from ITE to STU for SCCA competition.  One requirement of that class is wheels no larger than 17x8.  Chris@SoS had some very nice looking Advan wheels custom made that would be perfect (17x8 +54) but they are $550!!!  That's a little pricy for track wheels.  RPF1s are only $220 but they use a 45mm offset which will stick out more than I'd like. What other options are there?  Going to call tire rack to inquire about TR Motorsports options.

More options:
- TR Motorsports MT1 or C3?
- Enkei PF01, +50, $250, 17lbs
- O.Z. Alleggerita HLT, +48, 15.9lbs, $298
- Enkei RPF1 +45, 15.6lbs, $238

Tires
245/40-17 is the perfect size and everybody makes tires in that size so that's easy.  Complications arise when trying to match up contingencies.
Options:
- Kumho Ecsta v700, $216, 50 treadwear, shaving recommended
- Kumho Exsta v710, $196, 30 treadwear, more of an AutoX/qualifying tire
- Hankook Ventus Z214 C51, $193, 40 treadwear
- Hoosier R6, $266, 40 treadwear
- BFGoodrich R1, $221, 40 treadwear
- Goodyear Eagle RS DOT, $262, 21.6lbs

SCCA Regional Contingencies:
Kumho offers the best regional payout but they have the least appropriate tires.  Argh!

I bought 4 stock rear AP2 wheels from Rylan to use as rains.  3 were of V1 and 1 was V2 or the opposite.  I mounted them at Infineon only to realize that they require the stock lug nuts.  Aftermarket lug nuts work, but I don't trust the mount strength.  Now I'm on the hunt for 20 stock lug nuts.  In the pic below of the Raybestos stock replacements, notice the rounded seat.  Not very compatible with conical lug nuts.

That pic came from RockAuto and they sell Raybestos ones for $3.56 each.  Model number is 9913N.  What happens when I replace the stock wheel studs with longer ones?  I need to find open-ended nuts.  D'oh!
