Not a great day, but I always enjoy Sears. TrackMasters provided us with 7(!) 20 minute sessions but I only ran 3. The morning was wet so I didn't bother going out until after noon. I ran the first 3 afternoon sessions but in the 6th session I had a moment in T10 and then a spin in T11. The felt quite loose in right hand corners all day and I was afraid the toe settings for the left rear wheel were wrong. Couldn't verify without toe-plates so I decided to park it instead. Upon arriving at home the toe measured fine: 1/8 total toe-in: perfect. The only change I made since the previous track event was to replace the front 30mm solid Whiteline bar with a 32mm hollow Eibach bar. In the video below I assembled 3 trips through T7 and the car is a little loose in all of them. Then I collected 3 trips through T10. The first 2 are fine but in the last one the rear end starts to step out. I catch it but then spin the car coming out of T11. What caused the moment in T10? Was the left rear tire too hot? I ran over more of the apex curbing in the final run - perhaps it's a bumpsteer issue? Thinking back to Thill, the car felt a bit more loose in right turns there as well. I never felt confident pushing too hard in T3 and I had to be very patient on the throttle through T5a and the T14-T15 combination. Perhaps this is a lingering issue. |
