2009/12/19: Thunderhill Finally! Last minute with Thunderdrift. - Only $80 for 1/2 day b/c morning was too wet; guessing ambient was 45-60 from morning to midday - Drifters dragged mud all over track; T3-T6 was an obstacle course - shaved RA1s; cold pressure=32psi; checked pressure once after a cool down lap and it was 36-37 for all 4 tires; didn't bother with tire temps - I didn't rev it all the way out (thought I was) and laptimes were in the 2:19s driving at 75%. 2:05s should be no problem - brakes felt very good: DTC70 pads are very aggressive - WOT felt great, some popping and weirdness in the 5-5.5k region at part throttle
- shifting and rev-matching difficult to master with that clutch and light flywheel - definite high speed push - tried to adjust wing down but reached limit after only 1/2 turn - best lap was a 2:18 (over the top); I expect to be 15s/lap faster on a dry day with no mud |
